HISTORY

Since 1956 the Goodman family has been providing construction services to the greater Ohio Valley. During the past 60+ years, Goodman’s has constructed well over 400 homes, offices, retail spaces, and apartment buildings. Founded by Harvey Goodman in the 50’s his son, John Goodman with great foresight and hard work grew the company, building both the construction division and the Real Estate Brokerage, Harvey Goodman Realtor. Harvey and John are responsible for many residential subdivisions and commercial developments that shaped Saint Clairsville.

Now in it’s third generation of ownership John’s son, Jay Goodman realized a need to differentiate the construction division from the more widely-known brokerage business, Harvey Goodman Realtor. This is when HGR Homes was born, an affiliated general contracting company offering residential and commercial construction services in Ohio and West Virginia.
